Paneer Tikka Masala

Paneer Tikka Masala is a delicious red gravy flavorful Indian dish.We all enjoy paneer tikka for our starters but try it with spicy creamy red gravy and this dish will transform into uniquely delicious.This vegetarian dish is always found on the Indian restaurant menus.
Making Paneer Tikka Masala is a 2 step process firstly cubes of paneer,capsicum,onions & tomato is marinated with yogurt,spices & herbs.It is then grilled.Secondly,a delicious and spicy onion tomato gravy is prepared.Then the grilled paneer is added to it.

Ingredients
  

For Paneer Tikka

  • 400 gms Cottage Cheese or Paneer (cubed)
  • 1 whole Capsicum (cubed)
  • 2 medium sized Tomato (cubed)
  • 1 big sized Onion (cubed)

Marinade

  • ½ cup Yogurt (hung curd)
  • 1 tsp Ginger,Garlic & Green Chilli Paste
  • ½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • ½ tsp Mustard Oil
  • ¼ tsp Dry Mint Leaves
  • ¼ tsp Dry Kasuri Methi
  • ½ tsp Coriander Powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • ¼ tsp Chaat Masala
  • ¼ tsp Salt

For Spicy Red Gravy

  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1 cup Onion (cubed)
  • 1 cup Tomato (cubed)
  • 10-14 Cashew Nuts
  • 1 Green Chilli
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 5-6 cloves Garlic

Spices for Gravy

  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Kitchen King Masala
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • ½ tsp Kasuri Methi
  • Salt to Taste

For Tadaka

  • 1 tsp Ghee
  • ½ tsp Ginger Julienne
  • ½ Green Chilli thinly sliced (thinly sliced)
  • ¼ Cumin Powder
  • ¼ Red Chilli Powder
  • ¼ cup Fresh Green Coriander (chopped)

Instructions
 

For Paneer Tikka

    Step 1

    • To a mixing bowl,add the marinade ingredients,try using thick yogurt or hung curd.Mix everything well.The consistency of the marinade has to be thick.

    Step 2

    • Add cubed paneer to the prepared marinade.Diced onions,capsicum & tomatoes,make sure the size of onions,tomatoes and bell peppers are almost the same as paneer.

    Step 3

    • Mix everything well.Rest aside in the fridge until the tikka masala gravy is ready.

    Step 4

    • Take fresh toothpick and stack coated cubes of capsicum , paneer, onion and tomato with the marinade and place it on a plate.

    Step 5

    • Repeat step 4 around 6-8 times.

    Step 6

    • Heat 1 tsp oil in a wide grilling griddle pan on a medium high flame,place the stacked paneer coated sticks in the pan.

    Step 7

    • Flip them to the other side and cook on a high flame till all the marinade dries up and paneer turn golden.This takes only 2 to 3 mins.Set aside.Do not over fry them,as the paneer turns hard.

    Step 8

    • Keep grilled tikkas aside

    For Spicy Red Gravy

      Step 1

      • Take cubed tomatoes add it in mixture grinder and make a smooth paste without adding water to it.

      Step 2

      • Make onion,green chilli,ginger & garlic paste.

      Step 3

      • Make cashew nut paste.

      Step 4

      • Heat a pan keep it on a medium flame add oil then add onion paste saute it for a while.

      Step 5

      • Add all the spices one by one,saute it for good 3-4 minutes.

      Step 6

      • Add cashew nut paste stir it for few seconds and lower the flame so that the gravy does not stick to the pan.

      Step 7

      • Add tomato puree and stir it for few seconds and then add little water to make the consistency of the gravy smooth.Boil the gravy for 2-3 minutes.

      Step 8

      • Add tadaka on top of the gravy and let it simmer it for sometime.Gravy is done.

      Adding Paneer Tikka to Creamy Masala Gravy

      • Add grilled tikkas on the serving dish and add the gravy on top of it and serve it hot with naan and onion salad.
