Tandoori Roti
Tandoori Roti is a popular Indian flatbread baked in a clay oven known as tandoor.It is considered to be healthy food than naan as it contains whole wheat flour/ atta, little baking powder, sometimes a little yogurt is add to make the dough soft along with salt and water.
Ingredients
- 2 cup Wheat Flour
- 1 tsp Castor Sugar
- 1 tbsp Ghee/Clarified Butter
- 1 tsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- Water for Kneading
Instructions
Step 1
- In a bowl take wheat flour, salt, castor sugar, baking powder, mix everything and add ghee.
Step 2
- Add water in batches and knead into a semi stiff dough.Keep aside and cover it with a cling wrap, let it rest for 30 minutes.
Step 3
- Knead again to form a smooth dough. Take a ball size dough, roll out roti without dusting dry flour.
Step 4
- Apply little water on roti with hand or brush, place the wet side on a very hot tawa, bubbles will appear on top.Turn the tawa upside down directly on high flame.
Step 5
- Keep rotating till golden brown and crisp. Serve hot with saag tadka.
