Greek Salad
This is a popular salad in Greek cuisine generally made with pieces of tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, feta cheese, and olives and dressed with salt, pepper, Greek oregano, and olive oil. Common additions include green bell pepper diced or caper berries. This salad is not only easy to cook but is very healthy, the dressing used for this recipe has balsamic vinegar which not only lowers the cholesterol and aids in healthy digestion. It is fat free so it helps in weight loss to great extent though it isn’t a magic weight loss potion, still incorporating balsamic vinegar into your diet will help you reach your weight loss goals. Ingredients
- 1 head Romaine Lettuce rinsed, dried and chopped (optional)
- 1 big Red Onion diced
- 1 (6 ounce) can Pitted Black Olives sliced
- 1 (6 ounce) can Pickled Stuffed Green Olives sliced
- 1 large Green Bell Pepper diced
- 1 large Red Bell Pepper diced
- 1 large Yellow Bell Pepper diced
- 1 large Tomato thick sliced
- 1 large Cucumber, diced
- 1 cup Crumbled Feta Cheese
Balsamic Vinaigrette Salad Dressing
- 1 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
- 3-4 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 full Lemon Juice
- 2 pieces Garlic Clove (minced)
- 1 tbsp Oregano
- ½ tsp dry red chilli flakes
- salt to taste
- ¼ tsp black pepper (grounded)
Instructions
Step 1
- In a large salad bowl, combine the Romaine, onion, olives, bell peppers, tomatoes, cucumber and cheese.
Step 2
- Whisk together the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, oregano, lemon juice,minced garlic,chilli flakes,salt and black pepper. Pour dressing over salad, toss and serve.

Sometime Romaine Lettuce is not available throughtout the year,but that does not mean we cannot make this recipe,if available its great and if not than make it without lettuce but do not use cabbage it will not taste good.Instead of big tomato you can use cherry tomatoes is its available to you.
